Exactly what I’ve been looking for. The pictures on the app store aren’t clear, but what it does is this: You create a heading, for example ‘build a boat’ then create sub-parts of the project, say ‘paint the boat,’ ‘glue the boat,’ put in the engine,’ etc. This takes about 1 minute to do, it’s very intuitive. Then, all you do is click a sub-part, press the play button, and it starts timing. Press pause, and it stops timing. So, you can time just a single thing, or many things, and keep track of your time over days, months, whatever. There’s no time limit, it just starts counting up when you play, and stops counting up when you pause. This is exactly what I wanted - to keep track of the time I’m using. Very good, helpful, and keeps me on track so I can focus better. I like it a lot, hence taking the time to write this review.
Time saver
I have been using Caato Time Tracker Pro in my design studio for a few years now. Initially I used it alongside my studio management job record database system as the time recording per project is so much simpler and quicker to use. Now I use Caato and a spreadsheet for project management and thoroughly recommend it. It would be useful if there was a mobile app version (as long as it is not subscription-based - prefer to purchase it once).

I use this app on my macbook and find it good for what I am using it - just simple time recording per project and then downloading a report to Excel at the end of the month. I’d prefer it if I could break each project down to sub-projects so that when the report is generated, I can see the global picture for each project (client) and then report for time spent to that client on each sub-project. Maybe it’s there but I haven’t noticed that functionality.
My main gripe is that I also use iPad Pro and sometimes my iPhone 7 plus for work projects whilst on the move. I’ve had to download different apps for those and then have the fiddly task of merging the month end reports from each of those apps to the Caato month end report. I’d give it full stars if the app was available on ios and could then be merge with the macOS report. Caato Time Tracker 1 1 75Information
